Santiago, our resident heavyweight, is a gentle giant. Once he's out of the shelter, he walks nicely right next to you. Santi also has good car manners, getting in and sitting politely while you're on your way to your destination. He knows sit and down and enjoys treats so he has reason to learn more! On a recent day trip with a community member she explained he enjoyed a long walk up and down State street, showed some interest in dogs, but walked easily passed them. A yappy little dog popped off at him, but he didn't care. He also made many friends on his walk, taking treats from strangers who just met him. She also shared a photo of him lying down on cool bathroom tile to cool himelf off and didn't mind people stepping over him.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, SANTIAGO's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SANTIAGO was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SANTIAGO’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, SANTIAGO’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
