Meet Bento, a striking 1-year-old shepherd mix with a coat of rich red, mahogany, and white, and the kind of face that looks like it stepped out of a storybook. This beautiful boy is still learning how to navigate the world of people, but he’s already mastered the trails—and he’s winning hearts one hike at a time.Though shy and reserved in new environments, Bento is making steady progress in building trust. He’s discovering that human hands can mean belly rubs, treats, and even the occasional cuddle—especially when the car-camping tent doesn’t leave much room to sleep alone!This past weekend, Bento proved himself a trailblazing champ in Utah’s Tushar Mountains. He confidently conquered Mt. Delano, greeted fellow hikers with curious sniffs, and delighted in romping with the other dogs in camp. He prefers not to be pet by strangers (yet), but he’s incredibly social in his own quiet way—content to simply be part of the group and soak in the energy around him.At home, Bento continues to thrive in a calm environment. He’s learning the ropes of potty training (with only an occasional accident), using the doggy door like a pro, and enjoying gentle pets on his back and tummy. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bento's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bento was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bento’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
