About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 06/14/25 Reason for being in rescue: Owner release via the intervention of a caring and concerned neighbor Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Bentley is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 07/09/25 he had a dental polishing. Radiographs by our veterinarian identified repairs with pins to a fracture in Bentley's left rear leg. There is no lameness noted. We were told that Bentley is a standard poodle. We do not have papers confirming this. Given this, we cannot guarantee his DNA. Weight: 63 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Bentley requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. What kind of home would be best for me? Bentley is a one-man party, so while he enjoys other dogs just fine, he’s not asking for a sibling. He’s got enough personality to fill your whole house (and then some), and really, he just wants YOU. You, your love, your attention, your peanut butter. He’s in. Bentley is a LOT of dog. He's not for the faint of heart and not for a first time dog owner. He's young and highly active and ready to go all the time. He needs a strong, confident owner (food is not his love language). What is my personality like? Meet Bentley – The 65-Pound Stand-Up Comedian in a Poodle Suit. Do you enjoy spontaneous laughter, long walks in the sun, and being followed from room to room by a very large, very enthusiastic best friend! Then step right up, folks, because Bentley is here to steal the show (and your snacks). Bentley is a big, goofy, fabulous standard poodle who’s got one goal in life: to be the life of your party. Whether it’s a gathering of one or a backyard full of strangers, Bentley is ready to light up the room with his oversized charm, floofy strut, and questionable dance moves. And yes, he’s aware that he’s a bit of a spectacle — he’s been rehearsing for this his whole life. Now, let’s talk backstory. Bentley spent the first two years of his life in an outdoor kennel. You’d think that would make him cautious or serious or maybe even a little bitter — nope. Not Bentley. That just gave him a really impressive tan, a profound appreciation for grass, and the comedic timing of someone who’s had nothing but time to practice his act. (Picture it: one poodle, one bucket, one breeze — endless entertainment) House life - Totally foreign. The couch - Revolutionary. The refrigerator - Magical. Stairs - Confusing, majestic leg day machines. Bentley’s going to need some guidance when it comes to the whole “indoor dog” thing — but he’s eager to learn and definitely believes treats are a fair exchange for knowledge. If your life could use more laughter, more sunshine, and a giant poodle who lives like every day is his birthday — Bentley’s ready. Just add confetti. How do I act when I first meet new people? Bentley dances and prances his goofy, big self into every room and every set of arms. He's full of fun and ready to engage. Other tips and tidbits: Records did not come with Bentley. We were told he is about 3 years old so have given him a birthdate of 06/14/22. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
