About this Cat
Meet Mr. Squish â The Feral-Box Teddy Bear Who Just Wants to Cuddle ???? Mr. Squish came to the shelter in a trap and spent three and a half weeks huddled in his feral box, never once stepping out to show if he was truly feralâor just scared. He wasnât aggressive, just silent and unsure. No one knew what to expect. But the moment he arrived in his foster home, everything changed. Mr. Squish stepped out of the box and immediately asked for pets. Within days, his foster realized the truth: heâs a big, cuddly teddy bear who just needed a chance to feel safe.Sadly, about a week into his stay, Mr. Squish began losing fur and showing signs of extreme itchiness. He scratched, over-groomed, and seemed uncomfortable in his skin. After a full veterinary work-upâincluding bloodworkâthe vet determined he was likely experiencing an allergic reaction, possibly worsened by stress. Treatment began for both the allergy and anxiety. At the time, Mr. Squish was also sharing space with two young bonded male cats. It became clear that he and one of the males didnât get along. Interestingly, after the pair was returned to the shelter, Mr. Squishâs symptoms began to easeâhis scratching stopped, and his beautiful fur started growing back.He is currently being fostered with a 5-month-old female kitten. While he was initially grumpy about her presence, her persistent charm eventually won him overâhe even seems to enjoy her company now. Thanks to his time in foster, weâve learned a lot about Mr. Squish:He is not feralâheâs a cuddlebug who thrives on gentle affection. He may have allergies that flare up under stress or certain conditions. He likely wonât do well with another male cat, but seems open to coexisting with a respectful younger female. And yesâhe really is as squishy and lovable as his name suggests.Mr. Squish has come such a long way, and while it wonât be easy for his foster to say goodbye, this sweet boy deserves a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and cuddle to his heartâs content.
