About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 05/31/25 Reason for being in rescue: Kara was surrendered by her owner who was also a breeder. She has not lived the life of a traditional beloved companion that was raised in a home. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Kara is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 07/09/25 she had a dental polishing. Weight: 51 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Kara requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller. Please note that Kara can and will jump a fence if she is looking for you. You will have to stay in the back yard with her or have her on a leash. What kind of home would be best for me? Kara thrives with another dog by her side. A steady, kind canine companion is non-negotiable for this girl. She blossoms when she has a furry friend to cuddle, play with, and watch as she makes sense of new places and faces. Her joy is contagious once she’s comfortable—zoomies, tail wags, soft eyes, and that little grin that says, “I’m finally home.” Kara is looking for a family who sees her—not just for what she is now, but for the beautiful, gentle, deeply loving dog she’s becoming. She doesn’t need much—just a quiet space, a dog friend to call her own, and someone who will let her move at her own pace toward a brighter future. What is my personality like? Meet Kara – The Quiet Dreamer with a Heart Full of Hope. For a long time, Kara didn’t know she was allowed to dream. She didn’t know what it meant to hope, to trust, to have a soft place to land. But those days are behind her now. Today, Kara is learning to want things — safety, connection, companionship, and most of all... love. Kara is a gentle observer in this big, wild world. She watches before she acts, listens before she speaks. She’s not the type to charge ahead and lead the pack—but she’s no follower either. She’s thoughtful, intentional, and brave in her own quiet way. Once she understands her surroundings, you’ll see her step forward with growing confidence, one steady paw at a time. She’s learning what affection means, and once she trusts you, she adores being close—quiet cuddles, a soft hand on her back, a reassuring voice. She melts into love like it’s the thing she’s been waiting for all along. And honestly, it is. Leashes are still a little confusing, and the mechanics of “how the world works” are new to her, but Kara is determined. She’s learning. She’s trying. And with a little patience and a lot of kindness, she’ll continue to grow into the dog she was always meant to be. Kara’s learning to dream. And her biggest dream is a home full of love. How do I act when I first meet new people? Kara is quiet and reserved when meeting new people. She will greet your dog before she greets you. Give her time and space and calm and she will show you what true poodle joy looks like. Other tips and tidbits: Kara is estimated at 3.5 years old. We celebrate her birthday 11/30/2021. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
