About this Dog
Little Athena is a black beauty with velvety soft fur and perky ears. She could be a lab/shepherd mix, is 3 years old and around 50 lbs. When Little Athena arrived at the county shelter, she was in heartbreaking shape—likely used for breeding and then discarded. Scared and shut down, she curled up in her kennel, overwhelmed and unsure. She ended up on the euthanasia list—but fate had other plans. A kind foster stepped in just in time, and Little Athena's journey of healing began. Fast forward six months, and Little Athena has blossomed in her foster home. She's still a little shy with new people, but once she feels safe, her gentle, affectionate nature shines. She lives with another dog and absolutely loves playing and roughhousing—her playful side is irresistible! Little Athena would likely thrive in a home with another dog to show her the ropes and share the fun. She’s come a long way, but her journey isn’t over yet. Little Athena is looking for a calm, patient home where she can continue to grow in confidence and trust. With love and support, she will keep gaining confidence and be someone’s (yours?) loving and loyal companion. Age: 3 years Weight: 50lbs Temperament: Gets along with dogs, older kids (no experience with toddlers) Training: Housetrained, knows the command Sit Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: [email protected] To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.

Adopt Little Athena and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Little Athena's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Little Athena's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Little Athena, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Little Athena's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Little Athena was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Little Athena’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Little Athena’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Little Athena’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
