SOPHIA is another adult female cat surrendered to the shelter in mid May 2025 due to the medical issues of the owner who is no longer able to care for her. This lovely cat is a short haired brown tabby with faint orange specks. She is listed as five years of age and weighed 9 pounds set intake. She is friendly and sweet and reportedly was already spayed. However, staff has not yet been able to confirm it. That will have to be done before she can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, SOPHIA's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SOPHIA was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SOPHIA’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
