Based on his age we have elected not to put him through surgery to attempt to restore some vision. He has adapted well to his vision impairment. Leo is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 06/27/25 Leo had a dental with extractions. Leo is a poodle mix. He has a curly coat. Leo is a charming senior gent with a heart full of love and a few special requests. With limited vision and a preference for peace and predictability, Leo is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he can truly relax and enjoy his golden years. Leo wants to be your one and only—he’s not looking to share his space with other dogs. He thrives in an environment with structure, calm, and a little extra understanding. Because of his vision impairment, sudden movements—especially reaching for something on the floor near him—make him nervous and can lead to a startled reaction. What is my personality like? Leo is blind. he was startled and snapped at his owner and it startled her. She requested euthanasia; her vet recommended rescue. Leo is a sweet, gentle boy and we're thankful he's with us. This sweet boy lives for soft beds, gentle voices, and a simple routine. Leo enjoys short strolls in the fenced yard at his foster home, but he's happiest when curled up in a cozy spot where he can snooze the day away. He’s not high maintenance—just looking for someone who understands that love sometimes comes with boundaries. In return, Leo offers loyalty, quiet companionship, and the peaceful presence only a senior soul can bring. Other tips and tidbits: We were originally told that Leo was 6 years old. Based on his overall health and condition our veterinarian has aged him at 11 years old. This age is much more realistic based on Leo's overall behavior. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
