PINEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Piney and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (07/27) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring, MD (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Piney Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/heeler mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of Jan 2025 SEX: male Approximate Weight: 48 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Piney is Looking For: His forever family! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. What My Foster Says About Me: Piney is a sweetheart, he’s very cuddly - especially when he’s tired - and he loves being close to his people. He gets along great with my resident dog, and the two of them play together till they’re too tired to keep going. Piney is the first dog I’ve met who can truly tire my dog out, which is awesome for everyone involved! Piney is doing well on house training (only a few accidents in the house, and learning quickly) and crate training. He loves toys and bones too, and he hasn’t displayed any guarding with my resident dog (since neither of them guard, they’ll sometimes just rotate chews back and forth from each other till they’ve cycled through all of them haha, it’s quite funny to watch) Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Piney's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Piney was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Piney’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
