About this Dog
Animal Profile: Tinkerbelle is an approximately 7-year old, 8 lb female Chihuahua mix that joined us from a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, California on May 11th. She is now getting settled into her foster home in Seattle and is ready to find her forever family. Foster Update: This sweet, teeny tiny girl loves toys, and anything soft really. She’s a little thief and a hoarder in the cutest way possible -- she likes to take my slippers, kitchen towels and socks and stock pile them in her crate. She doesn’t chew them or damage them, she just likes to keep them in her crate! But she doesn’t mind when I take my things back. Tinkerbelle loves to nuzzle my face and tuck herself under my chin. In true Chihuahua fashion she seems happiest when she’s as close to my mouth as possible! She's quite a wiggler and it took me about 3 weeks to get her to stay still long enough to take a few photos, but when she’s not wiggling around, she’s a pretty good cuddler. She loves her crate and happily goes in and out when the door is left open. If she wants to take a nap, she heads right in. She doesn’t make any fuss when we put her in at night. Tinkerbelle is a quiet girl ... I’ve only heard her bark a couple of times. We went for a long walk at the arboretum today and she made no fuss passing a lot of other dogs, people, bikes, strollers, etc. She cautiously accepted pets from several admirers who thought she looked extra pretty in her ducky bow. She’s a good walker on leash and is great about going potty outside. However, she will still try to pee inside here and there, so we’re working on that. She’s also a great work-from-home buddy. She sleeps quietly and patiently in my office all day. This little girl cracks me up on a daily basis. I can’t wait to see her continue to open up and find her new family. Note: Tinkerbelle came to Seattle so itchy she could barely do anything but scratch for the first couple weeks. Now that her itchiness is under control, she is all personality!
