About this Dog
Libby is a beautiful young black Belgian Malinois who has learned the joys of family life after being abandoned. A truly resilient dog, she has learned over the past months to trust and to lean into affection, play and new experiences. She has learned to love belly rubs, neck scratches and back scratches. She actively seeks affection and wants to be near her person. It has been a true joy to see her gain confidence and flourish under the loving care of her fosters!Libby has shown a true affinity for the water and swimming – she is learning dock diving and loves being a swimming pool, at the beach or in the lake. Her fosters have also taught her beginning agility, which she adores! Getting into the car and going places excites her, as it means new adventures. Even if she is a bit hesitant while she investigates new surroundings, she assesses new experiences and then relaxes right into them.Libby gets along great with her foster brother, and has a wonderful time playing with him. She has been neutral but curious with kids at a distance and likely would be fine with cats as she respects a firm “leave it” but would need to be closely supervised at first… until that first whack of a cat’s paw, then we think she would stand clear, lol. She is great in the crate, is doing great on basic obedience and does well on the leash. Environmentally sound, Libby is a dog you can take on adventures anywhere. Her tail may be tucked at first, but the initial hesitancy has not stopped her from successfully navigating every new experience her fosters have provided her, and they have done a fantastic job of opening up her world.Looking for an affectionate, adventure ready, athletic Malinois? Libby is ready to meet you and be your best girl!To apply to adopt, please fill out the application by clicking on the Adopt button or ask for her to be added to your existing application.***********************************************We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location.
