About this Dog
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Mindy #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Meet Mindy | 2 Years Old | 16 lbs | Mellow, Loyal, and Full of Love This 2-year-old, 16-pound Chihuahua mix is the definition of a devoted companion: affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when she’s snuggled up beside you — or better yet, right in your lap. She’s what we lovingly call a “Velcro dog,” never far from her foster mom’s side and always ready for a cuddle. Mindy would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can be the only dog. Her ideal match is someone who’s home often and has experience with Chihuahuas or small breeds. She can be shy at first, but with a little patience (and a few snacks), she warms up quickly and becomes a loyal little shadow. While she’s still discovering the joys of toys, Mindy enjoys her treats, chews bones like a champ, and walks beautifully on leash. She’s got long legs and a quirky love of climbing — she even scales the grill outside to bask in the sun like a tiny mountain goat! She’s currently learning “sit” and “come,” and is nearly house-trained. At night, she sleeps peacefully curled up next to her foster mom, radiating calm and contentment. Mindy is heartworm positive and undergoing treatment, which means she’ll need a few months of low-activity living while she recovers. Once cleared, she’ll be ready for leisurely walks, cozy lap time, and relaxed adventures by your side. Because Mindy can be a little unsure around new people, she’d prefer a home without a lot of hustle and bustle or frequent visitors. What she truly needs is a patient, loving adopter who will give her the time and space to settle in, feel safe, and let her affectionate personality shine. Mindy may be small, but her heart is huge — and she’s ready to share it with someone who’s willing to love her right back. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family.
