About this Dog
Melanie was rescued along with her 3 pups from a woman who found her living in a drainage ditch. She is a young adult that loves to run and play. Melanie is great with people and she has lived with other dogs but her foster family believes that she would be better off as the only dog in the house. The reason being that she can play rough with other dogs. Currently, she can go out on walk with a 40 lbs female dog without any issues but Melanie does better as the only dog because she tends to resource-guard her toys and bones. She has also lived with 3-4 months old puppies, something she neoys because of her maternal instincts but with adults, she can become alpha-like. Melanie should be adopted by a family experienced with WORKING DOGS as this girl requires lots of stimulation. She is a beautiful, big and strong girl. A high fence is necessary because this athlete can jump 5-6 feet tall fences! Melanie will make an excellent pet and companion for anyone looking for a high energy, working, and intelligent dog. She LOVES the rain! Melanie is being fostered with children age 10 and older without any issues. She can be a bit too and clumsy for children younger than 10.Ideal home: Family with experience with medium-high energy working dogs where Melanie would be the ONLY pup. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. PLEASE READ: • If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this. • All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date. • Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments. Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well. Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation. For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com. The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Melanie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Melanie's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Melanie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Melanie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
