At just 8 lbs, she's the perfect lap-size companion who's happiest when she's by your side – whether you're working, relaxing, or heading to bed. Dixie is a true people-lover and thrives on companionship. She'll follow you from room to room like your own tiny shadow. Because of her strong desire to always be close, she'd do best in a home where her people are around most of the time. She’s not a fan of leash walks, so she’ll need a securely fenced yard to safely enjoy her outdoor time. A quieter single-family home is ideal for this dainty girl, as she’s not well-suited to apartment living. Dixie would be happiest in a calm household with older children (8+) who understand how to be gentle with a small dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, companion who just wants to be near her person, Dixie might be your perfect match. Come meet her – she’s ready to love you forever! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dixie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dixie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dixie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dixie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
