Bamboo is a sweet, adventurous, and sassy cat. She is blind and incredibly intelligent - she is very good at navigating spaces, though she does occasionally run into walls. She is very playful, affectionate, and is quite the chatty lady in the mornings. She is 10 years old, but has the spirit of a much younger cat (although she wants to emphasize, cats aren't considered seniors until they're 11!). She loves to play, and has a good amount of energy for a cat her age! She will make a great companion for anyone who loves to cook (she will sit by your feet the whole time, ensuring everything is running smoothly) and loves to hangout with you on the couch for as long as you’ll let her. She loves being around people, but is also happy to hang out alone while you're at work. She can occasionally get overstimulated, but she gives clear warning signs when she is ready to hang by herself for a bit. Overall, a very sweet and loving gal! This cat would prefer to be adopted alone and be the only cat in the home. Bamboo was rescued with dental issues and had surgery. We would be thrilled for a potential adopter to provide a larger adoption donation (between $250 and $400 total) and/or assistance crowdsourcing funds towards their necessary vet bills if possible.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bamboo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bamboo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bamboo’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Bamboo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bamboo’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
