About this Dog
COMET NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Comet Best Guess for Breed: Hound / Beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of July 2025 SEX: male Approximate Weight: 35 lbs. Gets Along With: Other dogs! He cannot go to a home with kids. Comet has not been seen with cats, but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Comet is looking to be placed with a confident doggy wingman to share in many life adventures and help him experience all that life has to offer. He cannot go to a home with kids. Comet is looking for: Someone who wants a spirited companion who’s equal parts goofy, loyal, and full of zest. This 1.5-year-old male hound mix has a heart as big as his bark and a playstyle as bold as his personality. Comet is not a purse dog; he's curious, vocal, and eager to explore. He thrives on physical activity and mental stimulation, whether it’s a long hike or a backyard wrestling match with a dog that enjoys running and playing just as much as he does. His play can be a bit rambunctious, so he’s looking for a home that understands his enthusiasm and can help channel it in positive ways. Comet has been working on his manners and is best suited to an adults-only home. With consistency, structure, and lots of love, he’ll be your most loyal sidekick. He’s already neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped – all he’s missing is a forever home. If your home includes a dog who loves a good old-fashioned throw down with another canine, Comet could be your perfect match. He's a hidden gem, and we know that for his family, Comet will be a once-in-a-lifetime kind of dog. What My Foster Says About Me: Comet is a young, energetic boy who needs the opportunity to play with other dogs. He's smart (already knows "sit" and "touch") and quickly makes friends with the help of a few yummy snacks. With proper love and support of both the human and canine variety, Comet's potential is unlimited. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog. Adopt Comet and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Comet's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Comet's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Comet, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Comet's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Comet was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Comet’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Comet’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Comet’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
