About this Dog
CLARICE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!! Name: Clarice Best Guess for Breed: German Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of February 2025 Gender: female Approximate Weight: 53lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! Clarice has a lot of fun chasing animals, so we wouldn't recommend her in a home with cats. We would caution Clarice around small children due to jumping and mouthiness, but we're happy to discuss integration techniques with adopters. Currently Living At: DC area foster home. Check out these videos of Clarice: https://youtube.com/shorts/kXo_DOuzb8o and https://youtube.com/shorts/CNKnxb5gMQQ. Clarice is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this sweetie ended up in the shelter. She's eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. What do you say? Is she the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: Clarice is an incredibly playful girl! She LOVES other dogs - enjoys running with them in the yard or at the dog park. She has made a ton of new besties at the dog park! Clarice loves to go outside and go for walks - she will happily wait by the door until it's time to go - she is working on her leash manners but making great progress. She settles well in her crate, too, and is ready to play as soon as she wakes up! She's also very food motivated which is great for training! Also loves a peanut butter kong and enjoys amputating all of her stuffed toys limbs and ears. She will do well in a household where she can get lots of mental stimulation as well as exercise, where she can be active and challenged! Heartworm Information: Clarice was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Clarice has completed the treatment and activity restriction period. She is awaiting her 6-month follow up test. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. Adopt Clarice and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Clarice's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Clarice's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Clarice, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Clarice's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Clarice was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Clarice’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Clarice’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Clarice’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
