About this Dog
We rehomed Benson at 5 months as his owner’s said they couldn’t cope with him and the women stated her partner was not nice to him. We already have 2 patterdales who are brother and sister and 7 year’s old. He has unpredictable behaviour with my husband. He is fine with myself and my daughters but has been aggressive towards my husband. He seems to be jealous of our other 2 dogs. We have taken him n two holidays alone with just me and my husband and he is so well behaved. You can take him in cafes etc and he is well behaved when alone. We have discussed Benson as a family and feel he would make a great dog for someone who has no other pets and can dote in him solely. He can be food aggressive but this seems to be if we feed the dogs together. If he is alone he is fine. I would not leave him alone with children however we live next to a school and he is always friendly with small children and really fussy. The women who we rescued him from did have small children and she did say he was fine with them. This is not easy to send this email to you as we love Benson however as a family we feel that to ensure he is in the best situation he requires a home as an only pet with someone who understands Patterdales. If he was out only pet we would not be contemplating letting him go.

How will Benson receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Benson, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Benson's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Benson was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Benson’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Benson’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Benson’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
