About this Dog
Hi! My name is Ruby. I am a 3 year old staff. I am quite nervous and will nip if I feel threatened. I do not get along with other dogs. Therefore I will need to be the only dog in the home.
I will also need to have no children around as I have nipped a child before and left a small red mark.
I find it hard to trust other people, therefore please be calm with me at first. No sudden movements as this frightens me and makes me want to nip, not bite.
I was given up to someone after living in horrible conditions, beaten badly, and kept in a shed.
I am now a lot better than before, and I even know sit, stay, paw, spin, roll over, and I can even press a button to ask for treats!
I need someone who is experienced in behavioural issues, I have started muzzle training however this is taking quite a while and I will scratch at my face to take off the muzzle. I walk well, I am strong and I leave no slack in the lead, but I do not pull.
I have food allergies, therefore, at the moment I am currently eating a hypoallergenic blend of biscuits with boiled chicken. I love food! I make a little grunting noise to let you know just how happy I am!
Once you get to know me and I trust you, I love being chased! I will also be very vocal whilst playing and do occasionally growl, but this is my way of playing!

How will Ruby receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Ruby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Ruby's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ruby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ruby’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Ruby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ruby’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
