About this Dog
Missy is a little bundle of love with a big heart and a big personality! This young 16 lb. rat terrier is affectionate, playful, and always up for a walk or a cuddle. She is a toy fanatic, enjoying balls, ropes, puzzles, and stuffies... toss her a toy and she is ready for action! She enjoys exploring the neighborhood either on leash or on a car ride, but is always happy to come back home and curl up next to her favorite person. Found as a stray, 1 1/2 year-old Missy was taken in by kind neighbors who've been giving her lots of love, care, and much-needed training—and she has made such wonderful progress that she is now ready for a forever home of her own. She's house-trained with regular potty breaks, and is generally quiet and calm when crated. She has also learned a variety of obedience cues, such as "sit," "stay," "free," and "back," and she is currently working on "place" with the help of a private trainer. Greeting strangers confidently and appropriately has been one of her biggest challenges, but with experience her anxiety has decreased, so she now is enlarging her circle of friends. Other dogs and cats, though, cause her great agitation, so she is seeking a new adoptive home where she can be an only pet and the center of attention. Loud voices and grabby hands are also challenging for Missy, so unpredictable young children would probably be too much for her. She would likely do well, however, with older kids who are interested in a dog that is clever enough to learn some tricks. If you've got the understanding and patience to go slowly with Missy while she learns her new environment, she will prove to be your loyal, loving companion. Adopt Missy (TX) and Receive Missy (TX)'s Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Missy (TX)'s new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Missy (TX)'s current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Missy (TX), thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Missy (TX)'s contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Missy (TX) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Missy (TX)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Missy (TX)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Missy (TX)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
