About this Dog
Shirley found herself in the shelter just days before going into labor. Pregnant and terrified, she did not want human contact and was quickly labeled “feral”. Thankfully, Operation Pets Alive gave her a chance and learned very quickly that she was not feral at all. With 1-day old puppies, she was scooped up and in foster care, and her life changed forever! It took some time to gain her trust, but she has come a long way and is now ready for a family of her own. Shirley was by far the best momma dog any litter of puppies could have ask for. She has grown to love her human friends and has begun to show her affectionate side. While she isn't a fan of being picked up and held, she loves to cuddle on the sofa or in bed with her favorite peeps. Did I mention she howls? It's always random and as cute as can be! She’s playful with other dogs after she gets comfortable with them and values a soft bed in her crate when it’s time to relax. Shirley is crate trained, but is still in need of guidance to potty outside. Wet grass has created a set back for her. She is also heartworm positive, but she will be treated through the rescue at no additional cost to her adopter.

Adopt Shirley and Receive Shirley's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Shirley's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Shirley's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Shirley, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Shirley's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Shirley was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Shirley’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Shirley’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Shirley’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
