Hi there! My name is Colby and I am a very shy (but happy) 1 year old boy. I do fantastic around other dogs (big and small) but I am very nervous around humans. I am not hopeless though! If I am shown patience and given space, my foster mom has seen that I can warm up to my new surroundings and even humans. I am definitely more trusting of women than men. I want to trust very badly but just need a little time to get adjusted. I am completely potty trained, great with the doggy door, and love being outside! Once I finally feel comfortable, the puppy in me comes out and you will start to see my love of playing with toys and other dogs. Other dogs are so much fun! Oh and I love going on walks as well! A lot is new to me so my foster mom is working to provide as many experiences as possible and show me I am in a safe place and I am going to be okay. I am even starting to learn that the car isn’t so scary and cry less and less with each adventure I take! If you are willing to be patient with me, I would love to meet you. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Colby Ray was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Colby Ray’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Colby Ray’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Colby Ray’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
