About this Dog
My name is ESMERELDA (A703731) or JADE for short! I am a 2 y/o 65lb Staffordshire Mix that that was found as a stray with my sister MOCHA at the intersection Travis and Lasoya in downtown San Antonio near Travis Park. It looks like I was bred and dumped. Iâm not sad though, a very thoughtful couple rescued both of us and we are now being fostered so we can be the best version of ourselves when we meet our new family!I have a fawn coat that almost looks silver with clear green eyes. Iâm very athletic and I move gracefully like a ballerina. When we were on the streets all I had was my little sister MOCHA to keep me company, so we are very close. Whoever had me before was a jerk and chopped my ears, but Iâm not self-conscious about it. I love going on walks because I get to meet all sorts of people who stop and give me scratches wherever I go. They are always impressed by how polite I am and even though I am affectionate, I am very quiet. I just like scratches and kisses on my big head. When Iâm not out and about I like to sploot out on a comfy sofa and watch reruns of Frazier or the new Masters of the Air series on AppleTv with my fosters. I enjoy cuddling my little sister because she is shy. My fosters say that if I had a voice Iâd sound a lot like Angelina Jolie! Sexy, confident and dusky! Iâm a licensed sleep therapist too. Even though I lost all my credentials, trust me after a few minutes of hanging out and cuddling with me and youâll be getting the best 8 to 12 hours of sleep that youâve ever had. Go ahead and call in late for work tomorrow! My hobbies include squirrel deterrence, chewing squeaky toys, and studying Texas history. Iâve been doing a lot of research about the Alamo defenders, especially the Tejanos like Gregorio Esparza. He's my hero! I walk by the Alamo every night. Maybe one day I can give you a guided tour! Iâd love to complete your family if you have room in home and heart. Iâm very close to my sister Mocha and if possible weâd like to be adopted together. If we canât we understand. I havenât been around a lot of other dogs so ACS is recommending a formal supervised introduction with your current dogs to see if we click. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and JADE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, JADE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the JADE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, JADE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
