Hi there, I’m Auggie — and even though my story started out rough, I’m writing a new chapter full of hope, healing, and tail wags. I came from a place where I didn’t get the care or kindness every dog deserves. Life was hard for a while, but I’ve come such a long way. I’m now safe at the shelter, getting stronger every day, and finally learning what it feels like to be loved. And let me tell you — I love it. Despite everything, I’m still the happiest boy. I greet every new person with a wagging tail and a hopeful heart. I’ve got a gentle, sweet demeanor that makes me a favorite around here, and I get along wonderfully with other dogs too. I’m playful, curious, and always up for a walk or cuddle. I’m also completely house trained and very good on leash — I really enjoy getting out and exploring the world by your side. The staff says I have a special spark — the kind that shines even brighter because of how far I’ve come. I’m on the mend and ready for the next part of my journey: finding a forever home where I can keep healing, growing, and loving with all my heart. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Auggie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Auggie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Auggie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Auggie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
