Meet Phoenix – A Beautiful Soul Looking for Her Forever Home Name: Phoenix Breed: Husky Mix Sex: Female (Spayed) Age: ~4 years (DOB: 02/18/2021) Weight: 60 lbs Microchipped: Yes Vaccinated: Rabies & DHPPC up to date Housebroken: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Phoenix is a striking Husky mix with a playful spirit and a lot of love to give. Rescued from the Forney Animal Shelter on March 30, 2025, she’s been making progress toward overcoming her challenges and is now ready to find the right home to help her thrive. Phoenix does need to be crated when left home alone and prefers to be with people. She has been kept primarily in a crate during the day, and although she’s made slow but steady progress, she’ll need continued patience, structure, and positive reinforcement training. Phoenix is great with children and would do well in a home where someone is around more often than not. A home with experienced, understanding pet parents willing to invest in her confidence and comfort is ideal. What Phoenix Needs: A calm, loving home with consistency Someone with experience or willingness to work through separation anxiety A home where she’s not left alone for long periods A secure space where she feels safe and loved Phoenix is in good health, and is current on heartworm prevention. She received her ProHeart12 shot on 5/29/25. This option is the slow kill method for heartworm treatment which requires no downtime and a re-test (covered by LHS) in a year. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Phoenix was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Phoenix’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Phoenix’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Phoenix’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
