About this Dog
Hi, I'm Theo!!! I'm a youngish German Shepherd mix and I weigh about 75 lbs. Most of my coat is light brown, with black highlights. I have a dark mask on my face/ ears and a few white patches on my toes and chest. My foster mom says I'm a bootiful boi, whatever that means. I'll let you judge for yourself from my pictures. I am tutored (neutered) and up to date on all of my shots, heartworm preventative, etc. The vet says that I'm around 3 years old and my teeth are in good shape. Somehow I ended up in the median of Highway 82 between Munster and Lindsay on a very hot day in September. A passing motorist saw me and posted about me on Facebook but they weren't able to stop. My foster mom and some other good Samaritans saw the post and came to get me (and saved my life!) but I wasn't able to walk. My foster mom took me to the vet and unfortunately, we found out that one of my rear legs was broken. She took me to a surgeon who could help, and Dr. Bill fixed me up a couple of days later! I had to spend a few months getting better… being in my crate most of the time and only getting leash walks was kind of a bummer. Dr. Bill gave me a clean bill of health in mid-December and I have no limp or other ill effects. I love to play at the dog park and run around the backyard now that I'm all better. I'm a bit of a goofy boy and my foster mom calls me her 75 lb marshmallow. We're working on obedience training now that I'm not hurting anymore and the weather is warming up. I like it when my foster mom throws the ball for me, and I go after it, but I don't usually bring it back. I'm a good watchdog and I like to tell everybody in the house when the Amazon man or the UPS man or the mailman are coming to the door. I have never had an accident in the house and I'm really proud of that. My foster mom doesn't know anything about my past, and she wants to find the perfect furever parents for me. I'm skittish around brand new people but I warm up fast. I would do best in a home with no small children…I want to be the only baby and little people scare me. I do really well with older kids and adults. I also really like my foster sisters and my foster brother. My foster sisters are small dogs, and I just love them soooo much. My foster brother is a big dog like me and he's not a fan of other dogs, so we don't get to mix, but I really wish we could play. I haven't ever met a cat. I have some separation anxiety, and I'm still working through that. I don't like my crate very much because I miss my foster mom. I'm happy I don't have to go in there too much, except at night or when my foster mom isn't home. If you would like to meet me, fill out an adoption application:

100% of Theo's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Theo.
Adopt Theo and Receive Theo's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Theo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Theo's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Theo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Theo's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Theo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Theo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Theo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Theo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
