About this Cat
DOB 7/1/20 Hey there, everyone! I’m Simon, the possessor of everything you love about orange tabbies rolled into one purring, head-butting, heart-melting package. Friendly? Check. Affectionate? Big check. Curious, chill, and totally cool with kids and other cats? Yep. I even tolerate dogs like a total pro -- just another reason I’m such a catch. I’ve got that classic orange-tabby charm -- goofy, lovable, and always ready for snuggles or a sunbeam nap. I’m in kitty heaven when Foster Meowmy gently scritches my neck, ears, chin, and cheeks. She can forget the Temptations because my favorite snack is potato chips! While Foster Meowmy was taking out her trash one morning, I wandered up behind her as a skinny, forlorn stray who greeted her with a friendly “mroaw.” Admittedly, I looked like a defeated prize-fighter because I had bloody spots all over my nose and ears (which turned out to be bug bites). She summoned her cat-whisperer daughter to coax me into her arms, and voila, the next thing I knew I was dining like a king inside my new foster home. Foster Meowmy gently cleaned my bug bites but didn’t find any infection, fleas, or wounds. As she describes it, “What we did find was a sweet, lonely, little guy just waiting for cuddles!” And so I began a new chapter in my life story, and I’m encouraged that Foster Meowmy promises to find me the fantastic forever home worthy of the champion that she tells me I am. I’m bummed to report that when Foster Meowmy got me fully vetted, I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections. I’m ready to bring my golden personality with me when I move in and steal your couch (and your heart). Are you looking for a loyal sidekick? I promise that I will the big man in the house and your favorite roommate. Arrange to meet me today! HOPE ID 25-0629-L10 Simon’s $100 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites. Online application: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site Simon will be this week-end, email us at [email protected], and a volunteer will get back to you.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Simon #potato-chipper was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Simon #potato-chipper’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Simon #potato-chipper’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Simon #potato-chipper’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
