About this Dog
Meet Cricket — A Spunky Survivor with a Heart of Gold Cricket may be small in size, but she’s overflowing with resilience, charm, and personality. This one-year-old dachshund mix was found tied up under a Houston bridge in the scorching heat, abandoned alongside two other dogs. It’s a heartbreaking reality we see too often: the easy-to-place dogs get saved, and the rest are left behind. But that’s not how we operate. Scout's Honor believes every life matters, and we stepped in to rescue all three. Since coming into our care, Cricket has blossomed into a playful, sweet, and downright goofy little girl. She loves to romp around the yard, chase toys, and then crash in your lap for snuggles. Her lively spirit and loving nature make it hard to believe she came from such tough beginnings. Cricket is currently in boarding, patiently waiting for a soft place to land. What she really needs now is a foster or forever home where she can feel safe, loved, and part of a family. She’s a smaller dog, making her a great fit for a variety of homes, and she’s more than ready to steal your heart. Can you open your home and heart to Cricket? Fostering saves lives, and for Cricket, it would mean the world.
Contribute to Cricket's Stash!

100% of Cricket's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Cricket.
Adopt Cricket and Receive Cricket's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Cricket's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Cricket's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Cricket, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Cricket's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cricket was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cricket’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cricket’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cricket’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
