About this Dog
Amber Was Left Behind — But You Don’t Have To Leave Her Story Here Imagine this: it’s over 100 degrees outside in the Houston heat. You’re tied up under a bridge with two of your closest companions. You’re thirsty, scared, and have no idea why the people you trusted disappeared. That was Amber’s reality. She and two small dogs were dumped under an overpass like trash. Left in the heat with no food, no water, and no chance, unless someone stepped in. A kind stranger found them and scrambled to get help. But here’s the heartbreaking part: rescues said they’d take the two little dogs, but not Amber. She was too big. Too “hard to place.” They were willing to save two... and leave one behind. But not us. Scout’s Honor said yes to all three. Because we believe every dog matters, especially the ones no one else will help. And thank goodness we did. Amber is absolutely wonderful. She’s a gorgeous, medium-sized brindle girl, maybe part Catahoula, with a sweet soul and gentle eyes. She’s friendly, calm, and affectionate. The kind of dog who melts into you during snuggle time and gazes up at you like you hung the moon. Amber is about 4–5 years old and has quickly shown us just how special she is. She’s a calm, affectionate brindle beauty, likely a Catahoula mix, with soulful eyes and a heart full of love. She’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and well-behaved. The kind of dog who doesn’t ask for much, just a soft spot to rest and a human to love. She seems to get along beautifully with other dogs, big and small. And her easygoing nature makes her an ideal addition to just about any home. Amber is looking for a foster home or a forever family. Could it be you?

Adopt Amber and Receive Amber's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Amber's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Amber's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Amber, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Amber's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Amber was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Amber’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Amber’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Amber’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
