About this Dog
I adopted Luna in 2020 from the Galveston Humane Society. Very smart and loving girl. Housebroken, and kennel trained (eventually) She is a quiet girl, not a barker. Very protective tho. She would let me know when someone is coming up the stairs. Very protective. So it was just her and I. In January 2026 I moved to Ohio. My niece agreed to take Luna instead to taking her to a shelter. She had a HUGE yard, a pool and 3 other dogs. I thought everything was going great. I moved back to Galveston August 2026, and everything hit the fan. My niece has let me know that my dog is borderline "feral" because she is peeing in her house all over the place, has ruined her turkish rugs, her house smells like pee, Luna busted through a window when someone had come up to the door ... "you've got to come get your dog NOW!!" My niece is being very ugly and is about to lose her mind.
I came back to Galveston, and a friend is letting me live with her in a very small room in her house. She has a large dog she is training to be her service dog (my friend is 81 years old), and I just have nowhere for Luna. I can't take her.

How will Luna Muna receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Luna Muna, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Luna Muna's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Luna Muna was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Luna Muna’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Luna Muna’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Luna Muna’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
