About this Dog
Meet Sunny! ☀️
Sunny is a sweet and loyal Lab/German Shepherd mix with a gentle soul and a big heart. He first showed up as a stray, quietly sleeping on my friend's front porch each night. After several days and no success in locating his original owner, I was asked to foster him and help find his forever home.
Since then, Sunny has been living with me for the past several months. While I've started training him and he’s made great progress, I’m unable to keep him long-term due to time constraints and personal reasons. My priority now is to find him the loving, permanent home he truly deserves.
What makes Sunny special:
Friendly & social: Gets along great with my two other rescue dogs and enjoys being around people and other pups.
Manners: He’s respectful at mealtime—he’ll sit and wait for the command before eating.
Calm & patient: He doesn’t scratch at doors and will calmly wait outside if needed.
Well-behaved indoors & outdoors: Kennel trained and comfortable in both settings.
Still learning: He’s currently working through a digging phase and is eager to learn with the right guidance.
Sunny thrives on companionship and would do best in a home where he has company—either from a person who’s around often or another friendly dog. He’s a loyal, affectionate companion who’s ready to bond with his forever family.
If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who just wants to be by your side, Sunny might be the perfect match.

Adopt Sunny and Receive Sunny's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Sunny's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Sunny receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Sunny, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Sunny's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sunny was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sunny’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Sunny’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sunny’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
