About this Dog
Chief is a Catahoula male born December 26, 2020. He was a calm puppy who loved to explore and play. He lived with my sister and her family for 7 months, but due to his active play and protection over his food we thought it would be better if he lived with me. Chief attended training at North Texas Dog Trainers where he learned on and off leash commands. He loves to actively explore on leash, but will respect commands when given. He is still protective of his food bowl, but he takes food from my hand very, very gently. He is good with other dogs if they have been neutered, but has shown aggression towards large dogs that are still intact. He does not seem to like cats! Chief is warm and friendly to all house guests, but must see them arrive and be greeted; he is a fantastic guard dog. Chief spent time at my parents property and loved to run and explore – he’s a little bit of a wanderer, but comes when called in. He is crate trained and goes to bed on command, but not without a little pouting. He will occasionally jump on the bed or couch, but has been trained to stay off furniture. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Chief is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.

Adopt Chief and Receive Chief's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Chief's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Chief's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Chief, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Chief's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chief was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chief’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Chief’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chief’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
