About this Dog
Meet Bear! This gorgeous boy was born around April 2023 and weighs a healthy 75 pounds; he may gain a few more pounds as he fills out. Bear is good-natured, very loving, and loves to play. He is sometimes silly and rambunctious. He loves to be petted, and will go right up to his favorite people to get his massive head petted. Bear loves people and did well when tested with children. He has been known to get overexcited and jumpy with adults when he is playing or greeting excitedly. For this reason, caution should be taken when introducing Bear to a new home and new people. After first being rescued, Bear displayed some food aggression and resource guarding issues and got into an altercation with another dog. After some training and much needed discipline, he is doing great and thriving in a home with seven other large dogs. Because of Bear’s history, it is recommended he go to a home without any other dominant males to ensure a peaceful and happy transition. He has a low to moderate amount of energy, and enjoys playing with some of his favorite foster doggy siblings. He could even be a good apartment dog, assuming there is room and he is allowed due to his size. He is leash trained and loves going outside for walks. However, he would not be appropriate for dog parks because he can be aggressive towards certain dogs. Bear is very well house trained. He is crate trained and does great hanging out in his crate while his foster dad is away at work. He does well in the car and is a calm and patient boy most of the time. Bear barks outside at strangers and loud noises. He is heartworm positive and is receiving treatment and is in great health otherwise. SPIN will cover his continued heartworm treatment if he is adopted prior to completion. SPIN Pyrs are all in foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs under 1 year old, $250 for dogs 1-7 years old, $200 for dogs over 7 years old. Potential adopters are asked to make travel arrangements if they live elsewhere. All SPIN dogs are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and on heartworm prevention. Please go to our website www.SpinRescue.org and fill out an application for this great Great Pyrenees!

Adopt Bear and Receive Bear's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bear's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bear's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bear, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bear's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bear was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bear’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bear’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bear’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
