About this Dog
This is the script: My uncle passed away on 7/7/2025 after battling several chronic illnesses. He lived alone in East Dallas with his beloved dog Buttercup. She is a loving 9-year-old German Shepherd mix. Over the last week, our family have done everything we can to care for Buttercup, but unfortunately, no one is in a position to provide a permanent home. We are seeking help to surrender her to a compassionate organization that can either place her in a loving home or provide her with the care she deserves. She is a sweet, loyal companion who has been deeply loved, and we want to ensure she is not overlooked due to her age. She’s currently living alone in my uncle’s apartment and family members goes twice a day to feed and walk her, but it’s very tasking as we mostly live approximately 20 miles from my uncle residence in East Dallas. Also, we have recently learned that my uncle was several months behind on rent and was/is pending eviction so we have to move Buttercup out very soon.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buttercup was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buttercup’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Buttercup’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buttercup’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
