LOCATION: Harlingen, TXDOB: 12/31/2014Meet Ozz, the 10-year-old Great Dane who refuses to act his age—and we couldn’t be happier about it! Despite being a senior gentleman, Ozz has the energy and spirit of a puppy, and he’s ready to share his vibrant personality with you. At just over 100 lbs, Ozz is healthy, happy, and full of life—he’s neutered, heartworm negative, vaccinated, and, aside from a small lipoma on his shoulder, he’s in great shape!Ozz is a bit of a bull in a china shop, with his big, goofy personality and not-so-coordinated ways. He’s been known to step on the little dogs from time to time, but he’s never aggressive—just a little clumsy and a lot of fun. He would love a big dog buddy to play with, as his enthusiasm knows no bounds. Cats? Well, Ozz was fine with them at first, but now he thinks they’re fun to chase. He’s not exactly a “cat whisperer,” so a home with no small critters would be ideal. As for kids, he’s a gentle giant, but his enthusiasm could knock down smaller kids, so older children or teens would be a better match.Leash training is coming along beautifully with a no-pull harness, and although Ozz isn’t crate trained, he’s perfectly content to roam freely in the house. He’s fully potty trained and uses a doggie door like a pro to come and go as he pleases. And, if you’re the type who enjoys snuggling, Ozz is more than happy to hop into bed with you—right between two humans, of course, because he WILL fit.From his foster mom: “Ozz is playful and silly—he loves whipping blankets around and just being goofy. He’s incredibly loving and adores laying on the couch with my husband. When he’s close to you, he’ll hug you, wrapping his arm around you like he’s giving the best cuddle ever. Oh, and did I mention he loves treats? For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ozz was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ozz’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Ozz’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ozz’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
