LOCATION: Tyler, TXDOB: 07/27/2020Meet Luna Nova, a 5-year-old spayed female weighing about 75 pounds. She’s an affectionate, playful girl who’s looking for a second chance after a tough situation. Luna will be placed as foster-to-adopt while we complete her vetting.Currently located in Tyler, Texas, Luna is healthy and can travel for the right home. A private adoption with her current owner is possible, and we welcome help from other rescues—please reach out if you can assist.Luna's world was turned upside down when her owners separated. Her dad was given just 24 hours to move her out of the home, and she’s now staying temporarily with an older woman who can’t keep her long. Her dad is unable to afford boarding, so we are urgently seeking a stable placement for her.She’s housebroken, crate trained, and knows her basic commands. She’s been crated at night and when left alone, though she has done fine when left out as well. Luna does have some separation anxiety—she’ll whine or pace a bit when you leave, but she settles better when crated.Luna loves kids and has lived happily with children ages 4 to 9. She’s a strong girl and can get excited, so she may jump up on you when she’s happy or pull on the leash during walks. She’ll need continued work with leash manners and reminders to keep her paws on the ground.She’s a COVID pup who didn’t get much socialization early on, so she’s very focused when meeting new dogs. With proper introductions, she becomes playful and friendly. Cats, however, are too tempting—she will chase them.Her favorite thing in the world? Her red rubber bone. She’ll play tug with it all day if you let her. What Luna needs most is a consistent, loving home where she can relax and feel secure again. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Luna Nova was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Luna Nova’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Luna Nova’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Luna Nova’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
