LOCATION: Durant, OklahomaDOB: 09/05/2017Hi! I am Duke, a senior Great Dane with a heart full of love and a story to tell. After getting all my medical needs addressed, I'm feeling soooo much better. I just have heartworms to keep tackling now, but I'm neutered and on the road to full recovery. I'm so happy to be healthy because now it's fun to run out with my little friends and patrol the big yard.Sometimes my step mom and dad take me to their place in the country. I really like wandering around and checking out all those great smells, but I am careful to stay close by in case I am needed. I love the couch where I get to sleep at night. I've learned to be a good boy and do all my "business" outside. Mom is good to be sure we all go out before bedtime.If good stuff gets left out within reach, I can't resist temptation and have to taste it. Oops... I have a crate with a comfy bed in it, but since I've been here, mom never closes it. I like to stay in it with the door open, but that other place where I was before would lock me up. I didn't like that much.Scratches anywhere are welcome, but the ones under my chin and down my neck are the best! I am not much of a barker, but occasionally my little friends here bark, and I feel compelled to give a woof or two in support, but that's about it.I am easy-going and hope to please. I can live with dogs and kids, but no cats. I'm looking for my furever home where I can continue to enjoy life and share my love. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, I'm your guy! Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Duke's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Duke was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Duke’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Duke’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Duke’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
