About this Dog
LOCATION: Shelbyville, KY DOB: 3/26/2019(we adopt nationwide)This is a long post but he’s worth the read Introducing the one and only Grimm! His past may be reflected in his name but this cutie is looking for his fairytale ending. So here’s the tea on this silver muzzled guy:Grimm comes from a pretty sketchy background and was removed by animal control due to a cruelty case. He has many scars on his body that shows the neglect he endured. He is guesstimated to be around 6 years old. He just got neutered. The past trauma/ lack of care/ age shows in his movements of getting up and jumping. This darling has some pesky arthritis and will need medicine to help ease the discomfort. He is currently prescribed Galliprant and takes high quality hip and joint supplements. Grimm takes medicine like a champ- no stealthy ninja skills required. He loves car rides and lounging on the bed but getting up to high surfaces requires a little boost. So, if you have a high vehicle or a high bed, a ramp will help. He loves ropes or hard chew toys. Grimm is the best bath taker. He will stand in the tub and never tries to escape. In fact he loves getting baths and the biggest battle you will have is getting him out because he seems to love all the rubs! Grimm is crated when his foster parents are gone and actually finds his crate to be a place of solace. Leash and collar placement skills are a work in progress. He doesn’t bolt away but rather wants to investigate every tree, flower, bush, sign, crack in the sidewalk, piece of trash….. everything. Based on his background it’s likely the first time he’s had a stable family and now that he’s comfortable he doesn’t want to lose them so Grimm can be a vocal protection but don't let this be something misunderstood. Grimm just needs a strong handler who let's him know that he is safe! We need a low traffic family with children 13+ who can help him overcome this with strong leadership so Grimm can see them as an owner/family member and not an object to protect. He takes a bit longer to warm up to strangers.CATS: Cats around Grimm have been finicky and have only wanted interaction on their terms. Grimm accepts this and shows no reaction regardless of if they are weaving between his legs or running for the hills. DOGS: Grimm has had foster siblings. Grimm has shown no aggression. He loves his Chihuahua old senior (17+ female) in the foster house and will snuggle up to her. Grimm REALLY loves foster dad and he wants the prime spot next to him when he’s relaxing but shares very nicely. Given the possibilities of what he dealt with in his past, Grimm is an exceptional dog. He’s an old soul and deserves so much love, snuggles, kisses.========================= To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .Note: SRGDRR adopts nationwide and offers transport options to help you find your perfect match! Adopt Grimm and Receive Grimm's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Grimm's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Grimm's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Grimm, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Grimm's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Grimm was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Grimm’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Grimm’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Grimm’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
