About this Dog
From his foster family:Darius is a big couch potato. He loves to nap and relax all day long. He's gained confidence in going outdoors, able to take elevators and stairs with ease. He enjoys little walks outside, and has excellent manners on a leash and at home. He does not need to be crated when I leave home, just enjoys his bones and stuffed toys when left alone. He likes all sorts of food and is very gentle with everything. He gets along great with my cat, and likes to sit with her on the couch and bed too. His calm demeanor doesn't intimidate cats. He's shy, but warms up to anyone within a few days. I would definitely still consider him very skittish/shy, he doesn't want to be touched by any stranger and prefers to walk on the other side of the street from any other dogs that are outside. He never barks at any dog or person, but he's much more comfortable going on walks with people he knows well. We've also had a bath and that went pretty well considering how nervous he is with new things. He enjoys being brushed and I can trim a few of his nails at one time without any restraint necessary. The vacuum makes him uncomfortable, but he'll just move to the other side of the room. Car noise and ambulances don't seem to bother him anymore and he will get close to a car (still won't jump in) with a little bribing.

Adopt *DARIUS and Receive *DARIUS's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, *DARIUS's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is *DARIUS's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the *DARIUS, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming *DARIUS's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and *DARIUS was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, *DARIUS’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the *DARIUS’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, *DARIUS’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
