About this Dog
Hi. My name is Pete. I'm a 4-year-old, orange and white Brittany who was born with cataracts in both eyes: then I went blind. When I was blind, I engaged in compulsive repetitive behaviors, such as spinning, barking, and pica (eating non-food items). I had successful eye surgery and now I can see again. As a result of me regaining my vision, I acquired a new compulsive behavior; eyeing light and shadows. Fortunately, with the help of my medication, my compulsive behaviors, with the exception of pica, have improved a greatly. My favorite toy is a black Kong. My foster mom thought it would be good for me because I can't bite through it. I love to fetch and retrieve and could do it all day long. B eing able to see is such a blessing. If I have trouble finding my Kong, I'm good at a game called Hot and Cold. I respond well to the command "leave it!" when I find something I want to put in my mouth. I listen well to the command "drop!" when I put an object in my mouth. I weigh 35 lb and I like to stay active. Maybe my foster mom could teach me how to wiggle my tush to "Nothing But a Hound Dog." I am not picky about what I eat and will try to swallow anything I put in my mouth. Because I like to swallow everything, I should not be left unsupervised. When I get anxious, a soothing white noise helps me to stay calm. I do not get along with other dogs and probably not cats. I have never been around children. I am not sure if I would get along with them or not. I am a great leash walker and have perfect recall. I'm up to date on all my vaccines and, other than requiring my eye drops once a day, I am in good health. I love to ride in the car and watch the world go by as I look out the window. I am eager to please and will do anything my foster mom ask of me. I am a happy dog and when I'm tired I love to sit and cuddle in my foster mom's lap. I'm very thankful for all the care I have received. It has been done with devotion by the people at nbran. I hope that soon I will be in a permanent home with a loving family. I will need to take my eye drops for the rest of my life, When my foster mother tells me "Chin," I rest my head in her hand so she can put the drops in my eyes. My adoption Fee is $400 to help offset my medical expenses and to allow NBRAN to rescue other Brittanys. NBRAN will provide transportation, up to 1400 miles, to my new approved home. Adopt TN/Pete and Receive TN/Pete's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, TN/Pete's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is TN/Pete's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the TN/Pete, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming TN/Pete's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and TN/Pete was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, TN/Pete’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the TN/Pete’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, TN/Pete’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
