He was one of three dogs from the home - one has been adopted, and Snoopy, along with Charlie, is still looking for that special forever home. Sadly, Charlie is Heartworm positive and will not be able to go to his forever home until the middle of August. He is absolutely worth the wait, as he is such a great dog! Charlie does not know a stranger. He is a friendly, happy boy. You are instantly his friend, and he lets you know that by wagging his tail and running up to you to say “Hi.” We are not sure how he would do with cats, so we said “no” to cats, but he is great with other dogs, male or female. He does not really care for a kennel, but would be fine left unattended in a room or house while you run out to do some errands. Sadly, because of poor dental care, he has lost all his teeth except his lower canines. Our must-haves for adorable Charlie include: A fenced yard, since he loves the outside Another adult small dog for him to hang with Someone who is home more often than not No high-rises, condos, or apartments, as Dachshunds do like to bark ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Charlie ADOPTED!!, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Charlie ADOPTED!!'s contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. We want the Charlie ADOPTED!!’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Charlie ADOPTED!!’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
