About this Dog
I found Chester on November 10th wandering down my street. He is a young male Akita mix about two years old who was not wearing a collar and was not chipped. I posted a photo and description of him on all the lost and found pet websites but have not gotten any inquiries about him. Likewise, I have not seen any adds online or elsewhere looking for him. Chester is an affectionate, high-energy dog who is very friendly with adults and children alike. He wants to play with other dogs but because of his size and strength, we are keeping him away from other dogs until he has been neutered later this week. The one issue we are having with Chester is his severe separation anxiety when we leave the house. He is too strong and resistant for us to get him into a kennel. Consequently, we must tranquilize him an hour before we leave the house. Chester also needs work on following commands so a course in basic dog training would be highly recommended. Chester is still young and fully of energy. Two brisk walks a day do not seem to be enough physical activity for a dog his age. We think he needs to be in a household with other dogs that will keep him company and that he can play with. He would also be a good candidate for doggy day care once he has been neutered. Currently, we have been taking him around the corner to run in a large fenced in property that is about to go on the market. A dog of his age and energy level needs that kind of intense daily exercise. We think he would do well living with a family who spend most of their time at home or with someone who works from their house. He is great loyal companion as long he is not by himself. My partner and I are both in our mid-sixties and semi-retired. We plan on downsizing to a condo with no yard within the year and will begin traveling a great deal in the coming year, so Chester is just too much dog for us to manage at this point in our life. We are willing to foster him for the short term but want to find him a more suitable forever home.

For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chester was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chester’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
