About this Dog
Hi… my name is Cane. I’m just a puppy—five months old and about 22 pounds—but I’ve already seen and felt things that hurt in ways I don’t really understand. I used to have a brother. We’d play all day, curl up at night with our mom, Creek, and I thought the world was safe. But one day, he was just… gone. I saw my mom cry without tears. She curled herself around me tighter than ever, like she was trying to keep my heart from breaking too. Now it’s just me and her. We ended up in this scary place with loud barks and cold floors. People say it’s a shelter. I don’t know what that means, but I know I miss the warm spot we used to sleep in. I miss feeling safe. And I know my mom does too. But we still have each other—and that means everything to me. My mom is my whole world. She checks on me, keeps me clean, and always lets me lean against her when I’m scared. I try to be brave for her. I try to make her laugh with my silly puppy hops and happy tail wags. I don’t want her to hurt anymore. They say I’m black and white, and she’s golden like sunshine, but we’re the same inside. Kind. Gentle. We walk well on a leash and like other dogs and even cats. I’m still a baby, so I’m working on being housebroken—but I’m trying really hard, and I promise I want to be a good boy. We just want someone to love. Someone who will let us be together forever. I don’t want to be without her. Ever. I’ve already lost my brother—I can’t lose my mom too. Please, if you have room in your heart and your home, take us both. There’s even a special discounted adoption fee to help make it easier. Everyone just wants us to stay together… to be happy again. We’re waiting for you. I really hope you come for us. Love, Cane & Creek *Guest Posting**HUGE Discount for both!**You can foster to adopt, foster or adopt!* If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at [email protected] or 865-236-0830. Adopt Cane & Creek and Receive Cane & Creek's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Cane & Creek's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Cane & Creek's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Cane & Creek, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Cane & Creek's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cane & Creek was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cane & Creek’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cane & Creek’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cane & Creek’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
