About this Dog
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Jolene is a sweet, white and brown Pyr mix with distinctive freckles and a lovely smile, and she is on the hunt for her furever family! She is crate trained, walks well on leash, and knows the commands "sit" and "down." She is fully housebroken and has a high activity level. Jolene gets along excellently with other dogs and currently spends lots of time with the resident senior Pyr. She shows no malice toward cats but will chase if they run. She’s even cool with horses, as she has seen them at her foster home and remains non-reactive to them. When meeting new people, she's typically shy for just a minute before warming up and seeking attention. Jolene is a spirited girl who thrives on companionship and is eager to please her humans. She's content to be wherever her people or furry friends are, adapting easily to indoor or outdoor time based on company. She has an inquisitive nature, and while she carries the protective Great Pyrenees genes, Jolene bucks the trend by being less vocal than most Pyrs. She enjoys playing with her toys, but shows no interest in chasing after a ball. Her athleticism is featured in her ability to jump 3’ straight up in the air! - which happens when she’s startled (it's quite the sight to behold)! Her ideal home is an active one with a secure 5’ fenced yard, regular exercise opportunities, and people who understand her need for companionship. Ideally, she would have another playful dog as a friend. If you think your home might be the pyrfect match for this sweet, freckled beauty, fill out an application today. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
