About this Dog
Cookie is a gorgeous young Pyr girl with a long, soft, fluffy coat that is both curly and dusty-gold in color, making her super unique. Cookie was rescued from a hoarding case where she was living in dire straights, and without human interaction. But now she’s in a foster home learning all about the kindness of humans, comfy dog beds, and the joys of sliced cheese! Cookie is fast friends with all dogs, male and female, large and small. Dogs are clearly where she finds comfort, and she will need at least one other dog in her furever home. This beautiful girl prefers being outside, and her furever home should have a 6’ fenced-in yard so she can run and play with her doggie pals. Cookie is calm around cats. She doesn’t dig or bark, choosing to spend her time romping with her canine buddies, sitting in the breeze, or lounging in the shade. Cookie is timid around humans, as she just doesn’t know much about them, having grown up in a sea of only dogs. That said, she did well when she met the groomer’s daughter, so perhaps smaller humans are less scary than the full-grown variety. She is curious about this new life in rescue, and we can’t wait to see her come out of her shell! With time and patience, Cookie will soon learn that humans come with snacks, hands equal pets, and that belly rubs are awesome! For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We may consider fostering for some of our dogs who are in boarding.
