Meet Ollie-with-a-Twist: A Gentle Soul Looking for His Forever Home Ollie is a stunning 2-year-old, 35-pound Blue Merle Australian Shepherd with the most soulful eyes and a heart that’s just beginning to trust again. Rescued from a dark, overcrowded shelter in Middle Tennessee after surviving neglect in a hoarding situation, Ollie spent his early life in fear and emotional isolation. But thanks to the love and patience of his devoted foster mom, Amy, Ollie is finally learning what it means to feel safe, to be loved, and to seek out gentle affection. While Ollie isn’t your typical outgoing Aussie, he is incredibly special. He has made amazing progress over the last year—coming to his foster mom for pets, curling up beside her on the couch, and even insistently nudging her for belly rubs in the mornings. These small victories are monumental for a dog who once cowered in fear. Ollie is quiet, crate trained, and housebroken. He loves short walks, car rides, salmon, apples, and hanging out with his foster siblings. He’s smart and sensitive, and he takes cues from confident dogs around him. Because of this, we believe a home with another calm, self-assured dog would be ideal. He’s not food-motivated (yet!), but he’s toy-curious and shows signs of playful potential. Ollie needs: A calm, patient home (children 12+ or adult-only). A securely fenced yard. A gentle, confident dog companion to show him the ropes. A person (or people) with time and heart to continue building his trust. Ollie doesn’t need perfection—just someone who understands that healing takes time, and that love for dogs like him is quiet, consistent, and life-changing. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, OLLIE WITH A TWIST’s balance will remain in our general fund.
