SAMUEL L CATSON is a large, fat cheeked, brown male tabby. Isn’t he gorgeous? Definitely! This fabulous cat was surrendered by his owner in mid March 2025. He arrived feeling a little under the weather and staff has worked carefully to nurture him back to his normal self. There was no age estimate listed on his cage card and the owner may not have had any idea. SAMUEL may have just shown up on their property and hung around after he got lost or was dumped by somebody. However, this perfectly wonderful cat is sweet and friendly and affectionate! Staff loves him! SAMUEL was briefly adopted and then the new owner asked to have him tested for FELV/FIV. When he tested positive for FIV, the new owner backed out of the adoption. If you know anything about FIV, you know that it is considered a condition and not a disease. It simply means he is more susceptible to infections and, like with any other cat, you simply take him to the vet to be treated when that occurs. It also means that you keep him indoors and, if you have other cats, you make sure they are protected through a vaccine that will prevent them from developing the condition. So, SAMUEL is available for adoption, but will need to be neutered before he can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!
