SUNSHINE arrived at the shelter in early July 2025. She is listed as a five month old Shepherd mix and she has a beautiful, shiny black coat that will take your breath away - in a good way, of course! Her age was estimated at five months and she weighed 36 pounds at Intake. She is playful and friendly and does not seem to mind her stay at the shelter, although she really would like to graduate from her large dog crate to a kennel with plenty of room to run as you can imagine. Sorry, kid! All of those are full, as usual. SUNSHINE is available for adoption, but she does need to be spayed before she can go home with you as your own. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and SUNSHINE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, SUNSHINE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the SUNSHINE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, SUNSHINE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
