About this Dog
MOUSE arrived at the shelter the day after the Fourth of July. So, she may have gotten loose by accident, but no one has come to claim her! Go figure! She is listed as an 8 to 10 week old Jack Russell terrier mix and she is white with black markings. She weighed only 17 pounds at Intake. So, in all likelihood she will grow to be at least a medium size dog, even if it is on the small side of medium. She is sweet and gentle and oh so pretty! MOUSE still needs to be spayed before she can go home with you as your own. So keep that in mind. Staff will get it done as quickly as possible once she is adopted if they have not already found a way to get it done by the time of her actual adoption. For all of you who wonder from time to time, NO - you are not buying a dog when you go to the shelter. The animal itself is free - the adoption fee pays for the cost of the spay or neuter surgery and the rabies vaccine that is given if the animal is old enough to receive one. In truth, the county animal shelter (taxpayer) loses money on most adoptions because the cost of having the surgery done at most places exceeds the cost of the adoption fee required by the county. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared!

Adopt MOUSE and Receive MOUSE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, MOUSE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is MOUSE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the MOUSE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming MOUSE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MOUSE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MOUSE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the MOUSE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MOUSE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
