About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 3/29/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Born into rescue Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Theo is a baby. He is up to date on vaccines for his age. Theo has been treated for mange and is now ready for his forever home. Theo's mom Clover is a small terrier mix. His dad is a man of mystery, though based on the dogs in the home likely a chihuahua or terrier mix. Theo is not hypoallergenic and will shed. Weight: 6.6 lbs and growing - we expect Theo will be between 20-22 lbs when full grown Height: 6 in and growing - we expect Theo will be 12 inches when full grown Spayed/Neutered: No. Theo is a baby. He is too young and small to be neutered prior to adoption. He will be placed on a spay/neuter addendum that requires you to neuter him at your expense within 12 months and provide proof of neuter. Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Puppies are always in need of a canine friend; they love to run and play with one another. Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. Puppies are generally very well-rounded dogs, they do not meet strangers and would do well with a nice big family or a single owner! What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! When raised around cats, with proper boundaries, puppies do very well. If you expect your puppy to get alone with your feline buddy, it’s important to start socializing the puppy with the cat as soon as you can! What is my personality like? Theo is a smart puppy. He was the first one out of his area because he wanted people and the other dogs. He was the first one to learn his name. He's the inner nerd in his litter. Theo’s a loving little guy who loves attention. He loves to make you laugh. He likes cuddling time with his brothers, but he prefers to be in a lap. PUPPY POLICY: Thank you for carefully considering the addition of a puppy to your family. Puppies can be a joyous experience, but they can also be a tremendous amount of work. Since our goal is to place each of our dogs in forever homes, we are especially cautious with puppies. We like to stress 3 major things when considering a puppy vs. an adult dog: 1) many adult dogs are well bred, well trained dogs who find themselves in rescue through no fault of their own, 2) adult dogs are eager to share their love and bond with their new family, and 3) puppies will always require far more time, energy, and training than an adult dog. Our ideal puppy adopters are: -experienced dog owners with a solid record of excellent vet care of their previous pets -scheduled away from home for no more than 4 hours per day and have another canine companion already in the home -stay at home type of people (work at home, home schoolers, retired, etc.) How do I act when I first meet new people? You can expect Theo to walk right up to you and introduce himself. He's a social, confident guy who loves everyone. He hopes your lap will be open! Other tips and tidbits: My birthday is 3/29/2025! House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
